Carol Clark

Carol has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Elmhurst College and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Northern Illinois University. She taught science and math at the middle school level in Elmhurst for 6 years and has been tutoring for over 12 years. She always wanted to be a teacher and enjoys figuring out how to tweak explanations and strategies to get the most from each student.

Our tutors come in many sizes, shapes and colors. They are retired and current teachers, stay-at-home-moms, professionals and college students. They have their bachelor’s degrees, their master’s degrees or are currently working towards their degree.  They’ve earned their degrees in education, physics, English, math, applied health sciences, computer engineering and pre-med from Elmhurst College, Wheaton College, North Central College, St. Francis, University of Illinois, Indiana University, University of Minnesota and many other colleges. They all enjoy working with students and helping them understand complex concepts or mastering the strategies for doing well on an entrance exam.

Regardless of your child’s personality, availability or needs, we have the perfect tutor for him/her. We interview each student in order to match him/her with a tutor with think will be the right fit, but we tell all of our students that we are very good at what we do, but if we match him/her with the wrong student, then we will just rematch him/her. All of our tutors have been rejected by a student, including Carol. While it does bruise our egos just a little, in the long run, we all want what’s best for our students.  If another tutor can connect better with a student, we encourage a switch!

Testimonials

Glenbard West Student

I have been working with my tutor for four years. She is easy to approach and easy to talk to. If you don’t understand something, she’ll try and explain to you another way. She cares about you and wants you to succeed.

Glenbard West Parent

My son worked with his tutor for over a year. She started as an algebra tutor and continued through ACT prep. Her positive approach and structured lessons resulted in a 4-point increase in a short period of time. She has a wonderful rapport with teenagers. We can’t recommend her highly enough.

Maine South High School Parent

We had the wonderful pleasure of working with our tutor to help our two children in preparing for the ACT. She was very thorough, focused on the specific needs of each of our children, one-on-one. She gave them great tips and helped them think in a more decisive way. She reviewed practice ACT tests with them that they each took and zoned in on where they were weak. Our children’s scores improved with her help.
